The Perfect V-Neck Dress
I've made my share of vintage reproduction patterns. I'm not really that confident of a garment seamstress, but I get by. My favorite patterns are the ones that fit just right on the first try, and this Vogue 8789 definitely fit the bill! Comfortable and a quick sew, I've already made two copies, but the shimmery white version using the new Robert Kaufman Essex Metallic is my favorite.
Here's a second version of the same dress - I know it's a quick sew because I made it in a few hours! I got the fabric at my local Little Quilt Shop - Sew Together Stitching Lounge. It's from the Kicks line by Melody Miller. I love that the organic feel of the stripes made it not matter if they matched up on the center seam, but it kept the bodice interesting!
