Sewing Recap: January Edition
It's been a few weeks since I thought out writing, but in the meantime, I've kept busy sewing (and cleaning)! Here's a quick recap of what I've been up to.
In the image above, I picked back up with a travelling quilt I'm working on with my friend Valori. We each started a center block, then swapped blocks for the other person to add something, then swapped again. It's a fun project that I'm excited to continue this year. I started and finished 12 Quilty Barns - now I just need to add the sashing. This project started when Karen suggested we both work on the same quilt. It was such a fun idea! I really love that each barn has a unique little animal in the barn window. I tried to pick things you might really see in barns. My favorite is the laundry on the line though. I Started working on the first round of the Quilting As Friends bee blocks. This month's blocks are for Anneliese. She requested blocks of any size with peach backgrounds. Her inspiration came from a children's book full of bright primary colors.
I'm not done sewing for these - I have until the end of the month, so I think I'll just keep making blocks that strike my fancy until I run out of time! You can follow this project on instagram at #quiltingAF.
Last but not least, I've been cleaning. This blog has really helped me start thinking about my sewing space and how to make it more functional for what I need. I decided to add a small design wall behind my sewing machines, and jazz up the decorating a bit - everything in color order.
